(Hehe, hope everyone can promote and collect more. Little Dragon bows in thanks here!)
After thinking for a moment, he put away his phone and continued to focus on solving the junior high school English problems.
Their class was college-level English, while Hao Ren was working on junior high school level questions because of small-class teaching. However, Cao Ronghua and Zhao Jiayin were not in this classroom with Hao Ren and Zhou Li.
The courses for the second year of university are always packed; it was already 5 PM when Hao Ren gathered his things to go to Zhao Yanzi's place by bus.
Although only a day had passed, Hao Ren felt even more nervous than last time. He arrived at Zhao Yanzi’s house and pressed the doorbell.
The one who opened the door was still Zhao Hongyu in her apron; she tied up her hair and there were water marks on her hands, indicating that she had been busy in the kitchen.
"You came so early" She greeted Hao Ren with a smile as she invited him inside.
"Hasn't Yanzi come back yet" Hao Ren asked as he stepped inside. He felt somewhat awkward because he was a bit too early, and this was his first time tutoring someone at their home, lacking experience in such situations.
"Yeah, her uncle is picking her up; her dad has to work overtime today," Zhao Hongyu answered without treating Hao Ren as an outsider. "Why don't you sit on the sofa for a while and watch some TV"
Hao Ren put down the materials he brought onto the coffee table in front of the couch, hesitated for a few seconds, then said, "Or shall I help out in the kitchen"
Zhao Hongyu looked at Hao Ren with slight surprise and smiled after hesitating for a moment. "Sure."
Hao Ren rolled up his sleeves and followed Zhao Hongyu into the kitchen. He felt that it would be inappropriate to simply eat without offering any help.
The kitchen was well-organized, with various ingredients neatly arranged in categories. It seemed that Hao Ren had arrived too early because dinner hadn't officially started yet; Zhao Hongyu was merely preparing beforehand.
Just by looking at the materials, Hao Ren could tell which dishes Zhao Hongyu intended to make. Without being asked specifically, he immediately stepped forward and washed vegetables, sliced meat like a seasoned chef.
"Are you often helping with cooking at home" Zhao Hongyu stood next to Hao Ren and used her even more skilled hands to slice the meat quickly.
"Yeah, I help my grandma sometimes," Hao Ren replied.
"It's clear that you're a considerate child. Our Azur would be better off if she had half your sense of responsibility," Zhao Hongyu said with admiration.
"She’s still young; when I was her age, I only knew how to play around too," Hao Ren answered without hesitation.
"Your parents aren’t often around, are they" Zhao Hongyu asked next.
"They’re very busy. When I was a child, I spent most of my time with my grandma," Hao Ren replied truthfully.
Zhao Hongyu pondered for a moment and said, "Now that you're in university, your grandma must be lonely."
"I often go back on weekends to keep her company…" Hao Ren started but then felt Zhao Hongyu's words had another meaning. He looked at her with some confusion.
After a brief pause, Zhao Hongyu said, "If you and Azur decide to commit to each other, I’ll have your grandma move in here."
"This…is a bit too fast, isn't it" Hao Ren smiled awkwardly, "She still doesn’t know about Ah Zi."
"She will eventually find out. I understand the old man’s thoughts better than you do," she said with a smile and nodded. "But let me give you the chance to tell her yourself."
“Hmm…” Hao Ren also nodded, continuing to slice the potato sticks.
"By the way, what exactly is an Inspector" Hao Ren suddenly thought of something and asked.
For some reason, whenever he was with Zhao Yanzhu’s mother, Zhao Hongyu, he felt very at ease. Perhaps in his mind, a "mother" should be someone as virtuous and kind as her.
"Oh, you met an Inspector" Zhao Hongyu looked slightly surprised.
“It was one of our university teachers, Su Han,” Hao Ren said.
"Ah… that’s her…" Zhao Hongyu fell into a few seconds of contemplation.
"You know her" Hao Ren asked cautiously.
"Inspectors are a difficult group to deal with. However, this Su Han has some connections with us from the East China Sea region and shouldn’t cause you any trouble," Zhao Hongyu said.
Hearing her tone, it seemed like there wasn't just one Inspector. Moreover, looking at Zhao Hongyu’s expression, she even appeared to show a degree of respect towards Su Han Hao Ren felt even more puzzled inside.
Seeing the confusion on Hao Ren's face, Zhao Hongyu continued, "An Inspector is essentially a special group set up by the Dragon Clan to oversee internal affairs. They have the authority to intervene in any rule violations within the clan, such as corruption or private killings. Once they determine guilt, they can take action before reporting it.
Such great power, wouldn't that make them the Embroidered Uniform Guard Hao Ren thought to himself.
"Don't underestimate the Inspectors. Many of them have a Heavenly rank or higher in personal strength. Elder Lu is already considered one of our Eastern Sea Dragon Domain's experts, but even two Elders Lu might not be able to defeat Su Han." Zhao Hongyu continued.
Hao Ren didn’t have a clear concept of what 'strength' meant and he also had no idea how their fights looked like. But from the situation, Su Han’s strength seemed far beyond his imagination.
"How did she know my identity" Hao Ren secretly classified Su Han as an extremely dangerous person and asked again.
"In fact, we all have our own aura. It's just that your level is too low to sense your attribute, let alone others'. Since Su Han is a Dragon Clan Inspector with extraordinary strength, she could naturally see through your situation at first glance." Zhao Hongyu patiently explained.
"Can't you hide your aura" Hao Ren immediately asked.
"You can try to do so, but when encountering someone much stronger than you, they will still be able to see right through you," Zhao Hongyu seemed to know what Hao Ren was thinking and said again. "But don’t worry too much. Self-murder is strictly prohibited within our Dragon Clan; as long as Su Han acknowledges your legal identity, she won't harm you but protect you."
Legal identity... Does that mean I’m an irregular character who needs to be watched in her eyes Hao Ren thought.
"And over here on the Eastern Sea side, we won’t let you get hurt so easily!" Zhao Hongyu suddenly straightened her back and brightened her eyes, adding a bit forcefully.
Hao Ren looked at Zhao Hongyu with some emotion, knowing she had already considered him to be her son-in-law. If that weren't the case, why would she let him help in the kitchen and speak so firmly
The Eastern Sea Dragon Clan... It feels like a very powerful force… Even if Su Han has a special status, should she still show some respect, right…
"Azi's dad must have a high position within the dragon clan" Hao Ren had always wanted to ask this question and finally couldn't help asking.wed Zhou Liren as he replied.Hao Ren smiled inwardly, knowing that this was Zhao Jiayin boasting.
