able to walk. After all, Prince Jing was there with them; nothing would happen to Miss. But now she hadns't expected that Miss would return completely drunk. It was worse than yesterday's trip to the...Chapter 38: I'm Very Happy

The horse underneath Yun Qianyue started galloping wildly due to the intense stimulation she gave it. However, Yun Qianyue felt that its speed was not fast enough and used the reins in her hand as a whip, urging the fine steed to leave the city gate at an even faster pace.

Rong Jing was initially stunned but then grabbed Yun Qianyue’s hand and tugged lightly. The galloping horse lifted its front hooves and neighed, barely coming to a halt.

"What are you doing" Yun Qianyue angrily looked at Rong Jing.

Rong Jing did not speak but only stared back at her.

"Rong Jing, do you want me to change in some way I walk on eggshells and tread carefully for fear of displeasing you. I dare not act or feel anything because I fear it will upset you. Since my rebirth into this world with all my memories intact, from the very core of my being is a person as complex as myself. This is who I am; I want to change, break through these shackles that hold me down. But some things are rooted so deeply within me that unless I die, they will never disappear. What am I supposed to do" Yun Qianyue glared at Rong Jing with red-rimmed eyes, "Do you not think it is tiring for me to love you just as much as it is for you to love me"

Rong Jing’s lips were tightly pursed into a thin line.

"It's good that Xiao Qi is alive! I was ecstatic when I found out he was still alive, and you don't know how happy this made me. I always felt the loneliest person in the world, but now there's someone important to me living in such a world with me. Shouldn’t I be delighted But can I show my joy before you You think there are too many random people and matters around me, loving me is tiring, not just physically, but emotionally as well. However, the amount of love I have for you isn't less than yours. I'm always worried about how you might feel and react in various situations, am I not also exhausted" Yun Qianyue stared at Rong Jing’s tightly pursed lips, her heart suddenly feeling like it was being pricked by countless needles, "Are you thinking of giving up on me Do you think that would make you happy and free from these frustrations and heartaches"

Rong Jing remained silent, his eyes slightly dimmed.

"Fine! Then give up on me if you wish! After all, I’ve never thought highly of myself either. A woman like me deserves to be unloved. This way, both of us can breathe a little easier!" Yun Qianyue freed her hand from Rong Jing’s grip and slapped him off the horse with one swift motion before turning the steed towards the city gate.

Caught off guard by Yun Qianyue's actions, Rong Jing was quickly able to grab the reins of the horse.

Seeing that Rong Jing had grabbed the reins, Yun Qianyue instantly broke them with her hand and spurred the horse forward with her legs.

"Yun Qianyue! Try taking a step if you dare!" Rong Jing's voice was extremely deep.

Ignoring him, Yun Qianyue not only continued to advance but also gave the horse another pat, causing it to gallop off once more.

"Close the city gates!" Rong Jing suddenly called out softly.

The guards at the gate had already noticed the conflict between Rong Jing and Yun Qianyue. Upon seeing Yun Qianyue riding towards the city, they promptly closed the gate without hesitation upon hearing his command.

Yun Qianyue’s expression turned cold as she realized he was using his authority against her. She and her horse arrived just in time to see the gates closing. Using a light step, she left the steed behind and leaped onto the city wall with incredible agility. Upon landing on the wall, without looking back at it, she dove off again.

At this moment, Rong Jing also landed lightly on the city wall and reached out to grab Yun Qianyue's arm.

As soon as Yun Qianyue turned around, she slapped Rong Jing. He didn't dodge or avoid her slap but held onto her arm tightly without letting go. Seeing that he showed no intention of resistance, she just barely stopped herself and looked at him with a cold face, "Since you're giving up on me, why are you still holding onto me"

Rong Jing's expression was not good, "Who said I'm giving up on you"

"Didn't you say so" Yun Qianyue stared at him.

"I didn’t!" Rong Jing shook his head.

Yun Qianyue’s eyes were bloodshot, "You said loving me is too exhausting and that you don’t want to anymore."

"What I meant was that loving you is exhausting, but I never said I didn't want to anymore," Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue's red-rimmed eyes and his gloomy expression softened as he sighed, "Yun Qianyue, why do you always act so cool and rational around everyone except me"

"Then why haven’t you spoken up until now" Yun Qianyue was infuriated. She had been talking the whole time but all she heard from him were complaints of how exhausting it is to love her. How could she remain calm

"I didn't speak because I didn't know what to say," Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue’s angry face and sighed as he saw her red eyes, "I care deeply about you, very deeply, so much that I can barely eat or sleep. But am I wrong for caring That day it rained heavily, when you poured out your heart to me, how happy I was! I didn't ask for anything else; if you loved me, that would have been enough. But did you know I never expected you to recognize him just from hearing his voice and sensing his presence This made me very unhappy. Yun Qianyue, I don’t want to compare myself with him but I can’t help doing it. Comparing who is more important in your heart between us two. After making such a comparison, I feel that maybe throughout my life, I won't be able to match his place in your heart, and thus, I am jealous of him just being there."

Yun Qianyue frowned.

"But I also know it's impossible for you not to meet him. Do you know how much determination it took me to bring you to see him I've never been a broad-minded person; I'm petty and caring," Rong Jing continued, "He is the crown prince of Donghai Kingdom. If he was merely a crown prince, that would be fine, but he's so similar to you… You know, every word and action of his in these two days causes me to think: if it were you, wouldn’t you say the same words or do the same things as him Such likeness between him and you makes me unable not to care. I'm afraid after seeing him, I'll become nothing to you."

"Rong Jing, why are you so lacking in confidence" Yun Qianyue suddenly sighed.

Rong Jing might have never spoken as fiercely before. He turned his face away from Yun Qianyue and remained silent.

Suddenly, Yun Qianyue stepped forward and embraced Rong Jing, pressing her entire body into his arms. She softly said, "It's because we are so alike that it is impossible for us to fall in love. Whether in the previous life or this one. Rong Jing, you are incredibly smart; why didn't you think of this point Upon our next meeting, he will only be a relative closer than a friend."

Rong Jing's dark and somber aura changed as he turned his head to look at Yun Qianyue.

"What must I do for you to believe me" Yun Qianyue softly sighed. "I care about you too, not any less than how much you care about me. Even when Qin Yuning liked you before, I was concerned and very much so. You blame me for watching Qin Yuning and Ye Qingran act out the 'Living Spring' with Night Tianqing, and for painting the 72 springs of springtime for Night Tianqing. But you don't understand how relieved and vindicated I felt at that time—she finally had no right to like you anymore. Do you know that my heart was also quite dark regarding anything about you Even to the extent that for your sake, even if Ye Tianqin didn’t take action towards Qin Yuning, I might not hesitate to use any means necessary to put her on Night Tianqing's bed. I absolutely hate her."

Rong Jing’s gaze flickered, "Really"

"Of course!" Yun Qianyue nodded affirmatively and looked at Rong Jing’s poetic and painted-like face, saying: "So, Mr. Rong, please don't doubt your charm. And definitely don’t question my heart toward you. I am already poisoned! And deeply."

Rong Jing's lips curled slightly, "Then I can rest assured!"

"Yes! You should be able to rest assured." Yun Qianyue nodded.

A smile blossomed at the corner of Rong Jing’s lips. He pushed Yun Qianyue away and said to her: "You'd better hurry up. In the morning, I already sent him a message for him to wait for you at his temporary residence."

Yun Qianyue was stunned.

Rong Jing turned around with his back facing Yun Qianyue and looked toward the city gate. His tone was gentle but somewhat depressed, "Although you two haven't seen each other for a long time, it's best not to prolong this too much. Otherwise, I can’t help but think crazy thoughts about dragging you back."

Yun Qianyue blinked her eyes and stood still.

"From birth till now, the only person that could make me admire him was he." Rong Jing suddenly smiled, "Your taste is good!"

Yun Qianyue rubbed her forehead with her hand, somewhat bewildered.

"Right, after you see him, it's best to let him cancel the marriage agreement between Donghai Kingdom and Rong王府. You should know that Princess Luoyao is also here now, quite carelessly; she even saw me once on that day." Rong Jing said, "To avoid another episode of autumn peach blossoms blooming in August, you’d better deal with it properly!"

Yun Qianyue's face suddenly darkened.

Rong Jing chuckled softly and still kept his back toward Yun Qianyue without turning around. His tone faintly contained a hint of amusement, "Donghai Kingdom is indeed renowned for its beauty; the Jade Crown Prince's appearance undoubtedly matches the four words 'jade quality surpasses splendor.' Princess Luoyao also truly resembles an ethereal celestial being. You be careful not to be bewitched! Your peach blossoms are already plentiful enough."

Yun Qianyue’s face had turned as dark as soot, her voice coldly said: "You met Donghai Kingdom's Princess Luoyao"

"Yes, I accidentally saw her once." Rong Jing nodded.

"Ethereal celestial being" Yun Qianyue’s tone became even colder.

"Indeed, she is an ethereal celestial beauty," Rong Jing confirmed with a nod.

"August can't have another round of autumn peach blossoms blooming; it violates the timing! It's due for pruning." Yun Qianyue stared at Rong Jing’s back for a moment and suddenly turned around in anger, halting her steps to ask again when she heard his low yet delighted laughter stop: "You’re not coming with me"

"Better safe than sorry; I won’t go and risk seeing Princess Luoyao once more," Rong Jing replied.

Yun Qianyue hummed, then continued walking forward. After a few steps she used lightness kung fu to leap down from the city wall.

"Open the city gates!" Rong Jing did not immediately leave the city walls and instead gave orders to the soldiers stationed there who promptly opened the gate for her. He then instructed Xian Ge, who had been anxiously waiting at the entrance: "You take Miss Qianyue to Prince Jade’s temporary residence! She wouldn’t be able to find it."

"Yes, Young Master!" Seeing that the two of them were reconciled, Xian Ge wiped his forehead and immediately responded.

Yun Qianyue's feet touched down on the ground. She looked back and saw Rong Jing still standing atop the city wall. She turned her gaze away and saw the gate open with Xian Ge leading in a horse, looking at her with a face full of grievance. She raised an eyebrow and took the reins from him, mounting the horse.

"Miss Qianyue, you mustn't scare your servant like that in the future! I nearly lost my soul from fright because of you and our Young Master."

Cloud Qianyue suddenly found it amusing. She said with a mixture of amusement and anger: "He provoked me!"

"My young master treats everyone with grace and humility, but he’s different around you. Please be more understanding," String Song said.

Cloud Qianyue made an “ahem” sound, feeling relieved after the argument which opened her heart to him. She thought that sometimes arguing could have its benefits too. With a smile on her face, she told String Song: "Lead me there quickly!"

String Song nodded and led the way.

Cloud Qianyue followed behind him while riding her horse; Linglian and Yixue, who had also been frightened earlier, immediately caught up to follow her.

After walking down another street, String Song turned around and couldn’t see their young master's figure. He asked Cloud Qianyue with some hesitation: "Miss Qianyue, you and Prince Jade from the East Sea Kingdom..."

"An old acquaintance," replied Cloud Qianyue.

String Song looked at her curiously but then turned away to continue walking without asking again. Miss Qianyue had many secrets, so he didn’t find it strange that there were things he didn't know about her. He just couldn't imagine Prince Jade being an old acquaintance of hers.

They walked down two more streets and arrived at a courtyard. This courtyard was similar to where Yongjing stayed; the street in front of its entrance was very clean. At this moment, the gate was wide open; some crabapple trees as well as peonies were planted inside it. The crabapples were still blooming while the peonies were in full bloom.

String Song pulled his horse's reins and told Cloud Qianyue: "Miss Qianyue, this is it!"

Cloud Qianyue nodded her head. She was about to dismount when she saw a woman coming out of a room in the courtyard. The lady wore magnificent clothes with a light pink veil covering her face, but even without seeing her looks, one could tell from her high bun and slim waist that she was an extremely beautiful woman. Recalling what Yongjing had said, Cloud Qianyue’s eyes dimmed.

The woman stopped at the door upon seeing several people in front of it; a servant girl came out from behind her. The lady's gaze fell on Cloud Qianyue for a moment before she whispered to her maid: "Cui Er, go and ask who these guests are."

"Yes, Your Highness!" the maid named Cui Er replied immediately and walked towards the entrance.

Cloud Qianyue was skilled in martial arts. Even without it, she could read lips, so she clearly heard what the woman and her servant had said. She stopped from dismounting and sat silently on her horse.

The maid walked into the courtyard as another room's door opened to reveal Luo Yu’s face. He was surprised upon seeing Cloud Qianyue before shouting: "Cloud Qianyue, what are you doing here"

Cui Er stopped and turned around to look at the young man.

The woman also seemed surprised; she turned her head to look at Luo Yu but when he didn't pay attention to her, she turned back with a gaze that focused on Cloud Qianyue. Her eyes scrutinized hers this time, but there was something else in them beyond that, yet no words were spoken.

Cloud Qianyue’s eyes flickered; remembering the rumors about herself and Yongjing, she glanced at the woman before smiling at Luo Yu: "Following your advice from earlier, I came to see someone."

The young man snorted, "You aren't stupid after all."

Cloud Qianyue didn’t say anything.

"Leading a donkey on a string and hitting it doesn't work either. You refused my kind invitation earlier, but now you come uninvited," Luo Yu said angrily, still upset about the morning incident: "You’re too late; Brother Zishu isn’t here."

“Where has he gone” Cloud Qianyue was unfazed by his anger.

"Why should I tell you where he is" Luo Yu snorted and slammed the door shut behind him.

Cloud Qianyue looked at the tightly closed door, thinking it might be what they call a refusal to open the door in Chinese folklore. She smiled.

The woman who had been standing by the entrance suddenly picked up her skirts and walked down the steps towards them. Cui Er saw her coming forward and hurried back to support the lady.

"Miss Qianyue, that woman is Princess Lu Yao!" String Song whispered in Cloud Qianyue’s ear as he approached her.

“Mm,” Cloud Qianyue replied. She had already guessed who the woman was. Even though she hadn’t seen her face, such an ethereal and graceful demeanor was more beautiful than any other woman she had ever met; even Qingwan Princess, Qin Yuceng or Lan Yi from the Lan family didn't come close.

"Miss Qingyue is being courteous. Princess Lu瑤has long admired your reputation; indeed, meeting Miss Qingyue today proves that your fame is well-deserved." Princess Lu瑤walked to the door of the courtyard and kept a certain distance from Yun Shangyue's horse, though she looked up at her with no discomfort despite their difference in status. Her voice wasn't particularly soft but was very beautiful.

"It's Princess Lu瑤! I've also heard much about you!" Yun Shangyue didn’t dismount and sat gracefully on the back of her horse, smiling coolly as she spoke: "Princess, your beauty is truly breathtaking and lives up to its reputation."

Princess Lu瑤smiled but just as she was going to say something else, the young man who had closed his room's door moments before suddenly opened it again. He stood at the doorway with a bad look on his face and said to Yun Shangyue: "Brother Zishu went to Bibo Pavilion in Cuiwei Mountain; if you're looking for him, go there."

"Alright!" Yun Shangyue nodded.

The young man slammed the door shut again.

Yun Shangyue thought that this child had quite a temper. She turned to Princess Lu瑤and said: "Sorry, I need to go to Cuiwei Mountain now and can't chat with you today. We’ll talk another day."

"Miss Qingyue is seeing His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for some reason" As if she hadn’t heard Yun Shangyue’s farewell, Princess Lu瑤asked smilingly.

"Yes, there are indeed matters to discuss." Yun Shangyue couldn't just leave without saying goodbye politely.

"The Crown Prince has been enjoying the scenery at Cuiwei Mountain these past few days and goes there every day for a while," Princess Lu瑤said gently: "Did you arrive yesterday That day I saw Viscount Jing but didn’t see you with him."

"Yes, that’s right, I arrived yesterday." Yun Shangyue smiled and nodded.

Princess Lu瑤stared at Yun Shangyue. Her gaze lingered on her clear and exceptional beauty as she seemed very earnest when saying: "Viscount Jing is a good person."

Yun Shangyue thought for a moment, then smiled slightly, “That’s right!”

Princess Lu瑤lowered her head to play with the hem of her dress. Her delicate and white fingertips had beautiful red nails that shimmered. She moved very slowly as if carefully caressing them; Yun Shangyue was not in a hurry to leave but looked at Princess Lu瑤calmly instead. After a moment, she suddenly raised her head and smiled at Yun Shangyue: "It’s already getting late. Miss Qingyue should go see His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as soon as possible! The path up Cuiwei Mountain isn’t easy to walk on; you must be extra careful. Also, although the Crown Prince appears friendly, he is actually hard to get close to and doesn't treat us sisters very warmly except for Yu’er."

"Thank you for your advice, Princess." Yun Shangyue turned her horse around and left this courtyard.

Xiange glanced at Princess Lu瑤and followed Yun Shangyue with a worried heart. Ling Lian and Yi Xue also cast a glance at the princess before riding after Yun Shangyue together, making four people quickly leave the street.

Princess Lu瑤watched Yun Shangyue until her figure disappeared from sight before turning back to walk into the courtyard herself.

"Princess…" Cuier caught up with Princess Lu瑤and watched her expression secretly.

"She’s Miss Qingyue of the Cloud王府! I’ve always wanted to see her, just like Viscount Jing of the Honor王府. I’ve always wished to meet them." Turning to look at Cuier, Princess Lu瑤said softly.

Cuier worriedly looked at her princess: "Princess, Viscount Jing and Miss Qingyue…"

"Go pick some **flowers** to clean and brew a pot of **flower tea** for Viscount Jing. He’s been working hard these days, and this courtyard is the only one that has such flowers," Princess Lu瑤interrupted Cuier's words to give her instructions.

Cuier was taken aback but then nodded: "Yes, I’ll go right away!"

Princess Lu瑤didn’t speak any further; she lifted her skirt and walked towards the room. Yun Shangyue rode out of this street on her horse, pulled back on its reins to come to a stop, turned around, and looked at that courtyard. She thought about what Princess Lu瑤had just said. The last thing she had told her was very meaningful. Suddenly smiling, Yun Shangyue gave instructions to the people behind her: "I know where Cuiwei Mountain is; you don’t have to follow me."

"Miss Qingyue, His Royal Highness Viscount ordered me to lead you there," Xiange immediately said.

"He only asked you to do that because I couldn’t find Prince Yu’s residence. Now he isn’t in the courtyard but on Cuiwei Mountain; I can get there myself so you don’t need to come along." Yun Shangyue shook her head and when she saw Xiange about to say something else, she said: "Tell your viscount that I went to Cuiwei Mountain."

Xiange seeing that Yun Shangyue insisted stopped talking, nodding his head.

Yun Shangyue glanced at Ling Lian and Yi Xue. Both of them nodded in unison; she then rode towards the northern gate of the city. The direction to the river embankment was south of the city while Cuiwei Mountain lay north of it. Yun Shangyue soon left through the northern gate, heading along the valley stream's path toward Cuiwei Mountain. Within ten miles around this county town, the roads had already been repaired but there were still some muddy patches where water had seeped onto them; horse hooves left deep marks.

Several officials she met yesterday at the government office were leading soldiers to clear the road. When they saw Yun Shangyue, they quickly greeted her with a bow and kowtow. Sitting on her horse, Yun Shangyue nodded and rode around them up onto Cuiwei Mountain’s path.

Upon reaching the foot of Cuiwei Mountain, Yun Qianyue immediately spotted a pavilion halfway up the mountain called Bi Bo Pavilion. Inside the pavilion sat a figure with its back to her. Although she could not see the person's face, the luxurious brocade robe and faint glimmers of light were evident. She stared at the figure for a moment before dismounting her horse and climbing the mountain on foot.

The rocks on the mountain were indeed soft. However, Yun Qianyue’s footsteps were extremely light, not even causing any pebbles to slip or make noise.

She didn’t know what she was thinking about all this while; perhaps her mind was blank. When Yun Qianyue finally snapped out of it, she found herself standing outside the Bi Bo Pavilion. She paused and saw that the man still had his back turned to her as if unaware of her presence.

Yun Qianyue observed him—his jet-black hair was like ink, blending with the color of the jade hairpin he wore. The aura around him seemed to blend in with the sunlight on the half-mountain slope, giving off a warm feeling. She took a deep breath and opened her mouth, her voice hoarse as she asked softly, "Little Seven, is that you"

The man's body stiffened.

"Carefully offering wine in jade cups, I pledged to drink until my face turned red that year. Dancing until the moon sank behind the willow-trees on the tower, singing until the wind under the peach-blossoms faded away. Since our parting, how often have I dreamed of meeting you again! Tonight let me hold up this lamp and examine your features closely; I fear it may all be a dream." Yun Qianyue’s voice was as light as smoke.

The man suddenly turned his head to look at Yun Qianyue.

Yun Qianyue saw an incomparably beautiful face. His skin was like jade, and his eyebrows were dark like ink—like the work of a divine craftsman, as if all the essence of distant mountains had been gathered into this countenance. Besides his eyes, she found nothing familiar about him. Her heart shook, and she suddenly chuckled softly, "I never imagined you would still be a beauty in another life! Tsk tsk!"

Yu Zishu’s gaze flashed with myriad emotions. He stared at Yun Qianyue's face for a moment, seemingly roused by her laughter, then abruptly turned his head away and said somewhat gloomily, "I also never thought I would be ridiculed for this appearance."

Yun Qianyue suddenly burst into laughter, mocking without restraint, "True lady!"

Yu Zishu turned back around, suddenly stood up, and strode to Yun Qianyue’s side, giving her a light tap on the head with his hand. He said irritably, "Are you trying to make me destroy this appearance"

"I dare not! I dare not!" Yun Qianyue forced herself to stop laughing and shook her head while clutching her head as she complained, "It’s been two lifetimes, yet why haven’t you changed your habit of hitting my head"

Yu Zishu suddenly stopped his hand mid-air; there was a hint of joy in his gaze, almost melancholic, warm, bewildered, and complex as he looked at Yun Qianyue. His body stiffened again because of her words.

Tears welled up in Yun Qianyue’s eyes, and she suddenly stepped forward, wrapping her arms around the man in front of her tightly, clinging to him as if there was no tomorrow and choked out, "Little Seven, it's so good that you're alive!"

The incomparably beautiful Yu Zishu shivered slightly; his face showed a hint of movement.

"I’ve thought about countless possibilities but never dared to imagine you would appear before me again," Yun Qianyue murmured softly. "This isn’t a dream, is it It can’t be a dream. Or should I pinch you hard just to make sure Pinch as hard as possible. But I know you’ve never been gentle with me. When I was injured and didn’t take proper care of myself but sneaked out to a bar behind your back for the strongest liquor, nearly getting molested by someone else, weren’t my legs black and blue from where you pinched them for weeks afterward"

"Yun’er, it’s really you!" Yu Zishu’s eyes also welled up with moisture. He reached out his arms to embrace Yun Qianyue.

"Yes, it's me, it's me!" Yun Qianyue sniffed as she nodded vigorously; though she didn't want to cry, her tears seemed to flow down of their own accord.

"I thought I’d never see you again," Yu Zishu’s voice was hoarse.

Yun Qianyue remained silent; her previously shallow tears now surged out in torrents. Perhaps when they didn’t meet, she had imagined all kinds of scenarios for their meeting and countless reasons to calm her heart. She compared how many years had passed since their last encounter, thinking that her feelings would have become tranquil and waveless, burying the memories and emotions deep within her heart. But until this moment, all those defenses crumbled effortlessly. She wanted to cry out loud, let it all pour out, only then could she feel the reality of seeing him again.

With that thought in mind, Yun Qianyue did just that; the surging tears quickly drenched Yu Zishu's brocade robe.

Yu Zishu no longer spoke, simply holding onto Yun Qianyue and allowing her to cry without stopping.

The entire Cuiwei Mountain was filled with Yun Qianyue’s crying sound, faintly echoing far away.

After two cups of tea had passed, Yun Qianyue's tears still didn’t stop. Yu Zishu sighed helplessly and pushed her slightly saying, "Yun’er, if you continue to cry like this, I’ll be drowned in your tears."

"I’ll drown you," Yun Qianyue cried even harder, unable to stop herself; she sniffled.

"That sounds wrong. Don’t tell me you want my imperial prince self to become a eunuch" Yu Zishu asked with a smile.

Yun Qianyue burst out laughing and huffed, "Your joke is cold."

"It’s because your sense of humor is too low," Yu Zishu said.

"I'm not done crying yet! Let me cry a little longer." Yun Qianyue said as she continued to sob softly.

"You shouldn't cry anymore! Even if you don't care about my clothes, you should consider Crown Prince Jing. If you go back with red eyes and nose after crying, he'll think I bullied you," Yu Zishu seemed rather helpless as he patted Yun Qianyue's body.

Yun Qianyue didn't expect him to mention Crown Prince Jing so easily; she snorted. "You have already bullied me."

"I'm innocent!" Yu Zishu raised his hand.

Yun Qianyue pushed him away. She saw that her sobs had thoroughly soaked the brocade robe he was wearing and found it extremely bizarre to see him raising his hands in a manner that did not match his looks. She glared at him with a smile, "Then you're not innocent!"

Yu Zishu lowered his hand and looked at his wet clothes, bitterly smiling.

"This robe must be expensive" Yun Qianyue wiped her tears as she said.

The look Yu Zishu gave her seemed to say 'duh.'

Yun Qianyue continued, "Anyway, you're the Crown Prince of Donghai. You have plenty of money; why would you care about a single piece of clothing Just take it off and throw it away."

"If this robe can catch your tears, then it's worth it! However, I can't just discard it. It needs to be shown to Crown Prince Jing for him to compensate me with another one. Although Donghai has plenty of money, I love my people like children and won't squander it," Yu Zishu said with a smile.

Yun Qianyue was speechless, "You really are an excellent prince!"

"Indeed! I am an excellent prince." Yu Zishu said affirmatively.

"I won't compensate you. Neither will Rong Jing," Yun Qianyue wiped the tears off her face and stepped forward to use a handkerchief to dry the wet patches on his chest.

"Crown Prince Jing said if your crying damages my clothes, he'll pay ten pieces of robes as compensation." Yu Zishu watched Yun Qianyue's hands drying the stains on his robe with a warm smile in his eyes.

Yun Qianyue paused her hand and asked, "Did he really say that"

"Yes! That was what he sent someone to tell me," Yu Zishu nodded.

"This wasteful fellow!" Yun Qianyue muttered angrily. She wiped his chest vigorously, her tone rather viciously, "He'll pay but you shouldn't take it."

"I want to have it." Yu Zishu chuckled.

"You can't take it even if you want," Yun Qianyue finished wiping and put the handkerchief in her pocket.

Yu Zishu glanced at the white handkerchief she had used before looking at her bossily. He smiled, "Yun'er, if I remember correctly, you're not yet Crown Princess of Rong王府 or married to Crown Prince Jing; why are you already saving him money"

Yun Qianyue blushed, "This shows that I have the potential to be a virtuous wife."

Yu Zishu smiled and looked at Yun Qianyue’s flushed face without speaking. Yun Qianyue raised her eyes to look at him; they locked gazes in silence for a moment. Then, Yu Zishu reached out and held her close again. He sighed with an extremely serious tone, "Yun'er, I thought you would reject me for Crown Prince Jing's sake. Luckily! I'm glad…"
